課程綱要 Course Outline |
- Advanced Journalism English is to make good use of world-renown news-related resources such as CNN, the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Economist, Newsweek, or Time magazine.
- In the first seven weeks of class, the instructor shares seven high-interest articles/video clips on a wide variety of themes with students. Each article exemplifies a particular newspaper section: news and features; opinion; business; education; arts and leisure; technology, science, and health.
- Starting in the eighth week, students present up-to-date articles on the state-of-the-art development/discovery in their major fields and on relevant controversial issues.
- Practice interpreting headlines, paraphrasing passages, and summarizing articles.
